The Trailfinder operates via internal microprocessor andamultiplexed scanned germanium diode arrays. It provides bothanalogoutput and displays the products hot edge position viabardisplay.
While normal Optical Position Scanners purely detect theproductabove a pre-set threshold as the Trailfinder operates viaaprogrammable control margin it ensures precise andrepetitivepositioned output regardless of the product’s size ortemperature.Hence, it is not adversely affected by lenscontamination, hotscale, metalwork or steam in the field of view.As a consequence itprovides very stable performance in difficultand variableenvironments such as found in Mill Stands that candefeat otherScanners.
Being adigitaldevice, the Trailfinders’ response time may be precisely settoaccommodate black spots, etc. without detriment to itsaccuracy.Furthermore, the Trailfinder detects the product edgeprecisely andrepeatability regardless of the product size andchanges intemperature. Various analog outputs are availableaccording torequirement.
