The TRAILFINDERDigitalOpticalPositionScanner'selectronic circuitry is packaged inrobustcastaluminumhousing.The housing includes a large aircooledchamberwhich isseparatedfrom the electronic circuitrycompartment.An airinlet islocatedin the rear of the castaluminumhousing.Pressurized airpassesthough this chamber, coolingthe castaluminumhousing thuscoolingthe electronic circuitry.Theair vents inthe front ofthehousing via a slot in front ofthelens providingairpurging.Further cooling of the air canbeaccomplished with theuseof anin-line vortex tubeaircooler.
Alsoavailable, an optionalsealedwatercoolantradiator & separateair purging facility canbeprovided.Thecopper water coolantradiator is mounted internal totheaircooledchamber. Coolantinlet and outlet fittings are providedintherearof the castaluminum housing. An air inlet is fittedinthefrontnozzle of thehousing and air is vented out the frontofthenozzlein front of the lens.
